Eight Everyman's Library classics wear custom jackets that together form one octave of a piano keyboard, drawn from a photograph of a 1930s Steinway. Each author's surname is set in elegant script at the foot of the jacket, its first letter matching the note it plays, from Conrad's C to Collins's high C. It is a set for the musician who reads, the reader who plays, and anyone who loves a clever design.

Each surname begins with its note: Conrad, Dickens, Eco, Flaubert and Gogol for C through G, then Austen, Brontë and Collins for A, B and the octave's closing C.
