We build bespoke sets and collections around the complete works, or the essential works, of the author you love, from the great names of the canon to contemporary fiction, mystery and science fiction. Jacket design follows your lead. It might center on the author, through portraits, signatures and imagery from their life, or it might let the stories themselves drive the art. When titles were never released in hardcover, or the hardcovers are rare and costly, our leather binding service can bind paperback editions into hardcovers that sit beautifully with the rest of the collection. Lifelong readers, collectors and anyone seeking a gift of rare meaning will find the work as personal as the reading.

The Process

1. Begin with a deposit. Click "Get Started with a Deposit" and proceed to checkout.
2. We reach out within 2 business days to discuss the author, the number of volumes, and whether you would like custom jackets, the publishers' jackets, or no jackets at all.
3. Curation and design. A curator researches availability while a designer develops initial concepts. This typically takes 1 to 2 weeks.
4. Your proposal. We present an estimate and initial Design Concept outlining the full scope, cost and timeline.
5. Approval. If you accept, we send an invoice before acquiring the books and producing any custom jackets.

Your deposit is deducted in full from the total project estimate.

Full Custom projects vary in cost and lead time depending on scope, title availability and design.

Can you build a collection around a lesser-known author?
Yes. We have curated collections around canonical giants and writers with small, devoted followings, and we go to great lengths to source even hard-to-find titles.

Should the jackets celebrate the author or the stories?
Either, or both. Some clients prefer portraits and signatures, while others want the settings and themes of the books to shape the design.
