Curated at Juniper Custom in Boulder, Colorado

There may be no greater gift to a child than a room that makes them want to read: a library that sparks curiosity and quietly tells them their imagination is worth taking seriously.

Drawing on more than two decades of library curation by our sister company, Juniper Books, we build children's libraries that are as rich in story as they are beautiful on the shelf. A collection might be shaped around a child's age, reading level and passions, or designed to grow with them, from picture books to chapter books to the novels of adolescence. The books may keep their publishers' jackets, wear custom book jackets that echo the room, or stand unjacketed for a clean, simple look. Parents furnishing a nursery, grandparents marking a milestone, and designers creating a reading nook will find every title chosen with care.

The Process

1. Begin with a deposit. Click "Get Started with a Deposit" and proceed to checkout.
2. We reach out within 2 business days to discuss the child, the size of the collection and your design preferences.
3. Curation and design. A curator researches book availability and, if you choose custom jackets, a designer creates an initial concept. This typically takes 1 to 2 weeks.
4. Your proposal. We present an estimate and initial Design Concept outlining the full scope, cost and timeline.
5. Approval. If you accept, we send an invoice for the balance before acquiring the books and finalizing the design.

Your deposit is deducted in full from the total.

Full Custom projects vary in cost and lead time depending on their scope and title availability.

Deposit Policy

Please note that the deposit is non-refundable, as it covers our labor to research books and prepare design concepts.

FAQs

Can a library grow with a child?
Yes. We can design a collection that begins with picture books and expands into middle grade and young adult titles over the years.

Can the jackets reflect the room or the child's passions?
Certainly, from the palette of a nursery to astronomy, fairy tales or the natural world.

What makes this a meaningful gift for a new baby or a milestone birthday?
A library begun in the earliest years becomes part of a child's first memories, and a keepsake that deepens in meaning as they grow. For guidance on a gift, write to clientservices@junipercustom.com.
