Hamilton - The Book Set
Made to Order at Juniper Custom in Boulder, Colorado
Some lives are recorded by history. A rare few are argued over, rediscovered and, at last, set to music. Alexander Hamilton's is among them.
He came to New York as a young immigrant with little more than a formidable intellect and a restless ambition. He served at George Washington's side through the Revolution, gave the young nation most of The Federalist Papers, and laid the foundations of the American financial system. In the summer of 1804, he met Aaron Burr on the dueling ground at Weehawken. More than two centuries later, the country he helped to shape still bears his imprint.
This curated Alexander Hamilton book set tells his story as fully as it deserves to be told: in his own words, through the voices of the Revolutionary generation, in Ron Chernow's celebrated biography, and in the book behind the musical that carried him to an entirely new audience. It is a set for the devoted reader of American history and the admirer who knows every word of Hamilton, and a gift of lasting consequence for a graduation, a retirement or the Fourth of July.

FAQs
Which book inspired Hamilton the musical?
Lin-Manuel Miranda has said the musical was born when he picked up Ron Chernow's 2004 biography, Alexander Hamilton, while on vacation. That biography is the heart of this set, joined by Hamilton: The Revolution, the companion volume by Miranda and Jeremy McCarter, which presents the complete libretto with Miranda's own annotations.
Why do the jackets depict the duel at Weehawken?
Because no moment in Hamilton's life has proven more enduring. The duel of July 11, 1804, ended a career that had shaped the nation's founding, and it has lingered in American memory ever since, from the closing chapters of Chernow's biography to the final act of the musical. Rendered across four spines, the scene lends the set a quiet gravity befitting its subject.
Can the books or the design be changed?
Yes. Through our Full Custom service, we can exchange or add titles, build a larger library of the founding era, or create a new jacket design around a theme of your choosing.
