Classics of Ancient Greece
Made to Order at Juniper Custom in Boulder, Colorado
Epic, history and philosophy: the foundations of Western thought, born in ancient Greece. This collection gathers three of its most essential works, each a cornerstone of the literature that followed.
Homer's Iliad, Herodotus's Histories and Plato's Republic are presented in Everyman's Library hardcovers, wrapped in custom jackets inspired by Greek pottery. Together they form a striking, unified display, as timeless as the works within, and a fitting cornerstone for a scholar's study, a well-read library or any lover of the classics.

FAQs
Which books are in the Classics of Ancient Greece set?
Three foundational works: Homer's Iliad, Herodotus's Histories and Plato's Republic.
What inspired the jacket design?
The painted pottery of ancient Greece, whose figures and patterns unify the three volumes into a single, striking display.
Why these three works together?
Each founded a way of understanding the world. The Iliad stands at the head of Western epic poetry, Herodotus is often called the father of history for his inquiry into the Persian Wars, and Plato's Republic remains a touchstone of political philosophy. Side by side, they trace how the Greeks moved from song to inquiry to argument, and laid the ground for nearly everything that followed.
