What This Service Offers

Our multi-room library curation service is our most comprehensive and personal offering — a room-by-room collaboration that results in a home where books are not an afterthought but a living, breathing expression of the people who inhabit it.

We listen closely before we curate anything. We want to understand who will read these books, who will grow up alongside them, and what each room is asking for. A living room with consoles and coffee tables invites guests to reach for oversized volumes of art, architecture, and design — books that open conversations and reward browsing. An office calls for leather-bound histories and works of literature that communicate a scholarly sensibility and a life seriously lived. A family library asks for beloved children's classics alongside essential reference works, creating a space that nurtures imagination and knowledge in equal measure — and grows with the family over time.

Every collection we build is curated by subject, author, and binding style, tailored to the design requirements of each individual room and the reading personalities of the people who will use it. Custom jacket design is available for any or all of the collections, or books can be presented in their original publisher format — or without jackets entirely for a more organic, gathered aesthetic. Every decision is yours, guided by our expertise.

The Process

Begin by clicking "Get Started with a Deposit" and proceeding to checkout. Within 2 business days, our team will reach out to discuss the scope of your project — the rooms involved, the number of books you envision, any specific authors or subjects you'd like included, and your design direction. Feel free to reference anything from our portfolio that has inspired you, though you are never limited to what you find there.

Our in-house team then researches availability and title selection while a designer develops your initial design concept — typically within 1–2 weeks. You'll receive a comprehensive proposal outlining the full scope, cost, and timeline. If you choose to proceed, an invoice for the balance is sent before books are acquired and design is finalized. Your deposit is deducted in full from the total.

Full custom projects vary significantly in cost and lead time depending on scope and complexity.

From there, our curators work room by room, selecting books by subject, author, binding style, and visual presence to create collections that feel native to each space while forming a cohesive whole across the entire home. Can Juniper Custom work with the architect or interior designer on our project?
Absolutely — and some of our most successful multi-room projects have involved close collaboration with the design team working on a space. We are experienced at working from architectural elevations, mood boards, finish schedules, and design briefs, and we understand how to position books as a design element within a larger interior vision rather than something added after the fact. If you have a designer or architect you'd like us to coordinate with, simply let us know when we reach out after your deposit and we will make that introduction a seamless part of the process.

How long does a multi-room library curation project typically take?
Every project is different, and the timeline reflects the scope, complexity, and the number of rooms and volumes involved. A focused two-room project with a clear design direction moves more quickly than a whole-home library spanning six or seven distinct spaces with custom jacket design throughout.
