A monogram has always been the most graceful of signatures: a quiet declaration that something was made for one person alone. Composed across the spines of a curated book set, it becomes something more, a work of design that holds its place on the shelf for a lifetime.
Our Modern Monogram Book Set, featured in Town & Country's guide to monogrammed gifts, pairs a thoughtful selection of books with a monogram designed in collaboration with you, in typography, palette and style. We often curate Everyman's Library classics, whose consistent height and fine craftsmanship make an ideal canvas, but the books may follow the recipient anywhere: a favorite author, a beloved subject, a lifetime of reading. It is an heirloom gift for a wedding, a milestone birthday, or a new home.
The Process
- Begin with a deposit. Click "Get Started with a Deposit" and proceed to checkout.
- We reach out within 2 business days to discuss the number of books, your curation preferences, and your design direction for typography, color and monogram style.
- Curation and design. A curator researches availability while a designer develops initial concepts. This typically takes 1 to 2 weeks.
- Your proposal. We present an estimate and initial Design Concept outlining the full scope, cost and timeline.
- Approval. If you accept, we send an invoice before acquiring the books and producing the custom jackets.
Your deposit is deducted in full from the total project estimate.
Full Custom projects vary in cost and lead time depending on scope, title availability and design.
Please note that the deposit is non-refundable, as it covers our labor to research books and prepare design concepts.

Yes. It is composed as a single design across the spines, so the full effect is revealed when the books stand together.
How are the typography and colors chosen?
Entirely with you. There is no template, only your preferences and the space the set will live in, from clean modern lettering to something classical and gilded.
