The Collection

Each volume carries the hallmarks that make these editions so passionately collected: gilt-decorated leather bindings, gilded page edges, silk moiré endpapers and satin page ribbons. Titles range across the literary canon, from classics and history to philosophy and biography, in rich modern leather colors similar to those shown. Every volume is a complete, readable edition, so the collection is as rewarding on the page as it is on the shelf.

Each linear foot includes approximately 8–9 books, curated by our team from current availability. Books are previously owned and in like-new condition. Some may bear a previous owner's name or bookplate, a small detail that only deepens their collected character.

Approximately 8–9 modern leather volumes fill a linear foot. Antique leather, with its larger volumes, runs closer to 5–6. Every foot is curated to read as one cohesive whole, yet each order is one of a kind, so exact titles and spine details will vary from the photographs.

Are these real books, or decorative props?
They are complete, readable collector's editions from Easton Press and The Franklin Library, never hollow or blank decorative books. Many clients acquire them for display and find themselves reading them.

Can I add more feet later?
Certainly. Books by the Foot is designed to grow with your space. Each new order is curated afresh from current availability, giving your shelves the graceful, collected-over-time character of a library built across years.
