FAQs
Which Jane Austen books are included?
Seven works: Emma, Mansfield Park, Northanger Abbey, Persuasion, Pride and Prejudice, Sanditon and Other Stories and Sense and Sensibility.
Who was Hugh Thomson?
An Irish illustrator whose 1894 drawings for Pride and Prejudice, known as the Peacock edition for its gilded cover, shaped how generations of readers pictured Austen's world. His lively, graceful line remains among the most beloved interpretations of her characters, and it inspires our Victorian Illustration design.
What is Sanditon?
The novel Austen was writing in the last months of her life, left unfinished at her death in 1817. Set in a seaside resort on the rise, it shows her turning her wit toward a changing England. The volume gathers it with her shorter works, completing a portrait of Austen from her youthful sketches to her final pages.
