We curate graduation book sets around the graduate: the subjects that captivated them in school, the field they are about to enter, or the ideas that will carry their learning further. Keep the publishers' jackets, or let us design custom book jackets that commemorate the achievement, honoring their alma mater or a milestone such as medical school. Parents marking a commencement, mentors honoring a protégé, and families celebrating a new doctor, lawyer or engineer will find it a gift the graduate keeps long after the ceremony.
The Process
- Begin with a deposit. Click "Get Started with a Deposit" and proceed to checkout.
- We reach out within 2 business days to discuss the number of books in the collection, the graduate's interests, and whether you would like custom designed jackets, the publishers' jackets, or no jackets at all.
- Curation and design. A curator researches book availability and, if you choose custom jackets, a designer creates an initial concept. This typically takes 1 to 2 weeks.
- Your proposal. We present a proposal and initial Design Concept outlining the total cost and lead time.
- Approval. If you accept, we send an invoice before acquiring the books and finalizing the design.
The deposit is deducted from your project estimate.
Full Custom projects vary in cost and lead time depending on their scope.
FAQs
What kinds of books suit a graduation collection?
Those that look forward as well as back. A new physician might receive the great works of medicine and the essays of doctors who wrote about their calling, a new attorney the landmarks of law and justice, and a literature graduate the classics that first set their course. We curate around the graduate's field and passions, so the set becomes the foundation of a professional library.
Can the jackets commemorate a school or a milestone?
Yes. Custom jackets can be designed around the graduate's school or field of study, so the collection becomes a lasting keepsake of the achievement. If you prefer, we can also present the books in their publishers' jackets.
When should a graduation collection be commissioned?
As early as possible, ideally a few months before commencement. Your proposal will include the lead time for your project, so you will know well in advance when the collection will arrive.
