Here, the art and the reading are one. Curation and design are the two crafts on which Juniper Custom was founded, and this service unites them. Our curators listen closely to understand who will engage with the books, then source from publishers worldwide and refine the catalog with your guidance. Our designers, meanwhile, create jackets that turn the shelves into a work of art matched to your space, your colors and the feeling you want the room to hold. Drawing on the decades of curation experience of our sister company, Juniper Books, every collection becomes both a library and an artwork.

We may ask for photographs of the space where the installation will live, or for a description of how you want people to feel when they see it. Share your ideas, inspiration and any specific requirements, such as color matches, and we will bring your vision to life.

The Process

1. Begin with a deposit. Click "Get Started with a Deposit" and proceed to checkout.
2. We reach out within 2 business days to discuss the number of books, the criteria for your curation (author, publisher, genre or subject) and your design preferences. You are never limited to the examples on this page.
3. Research and design. A curator researches book options and availability. Depending on the size of the collection, we may share a full or sample catalog, along with an initial design rendering. This typically takes 1 to 2 weeks.
4. Your proposal. We present the full project proposal outlining the cost and timeline.
5. Approval. If you accept, we send an invoice before acquiring the books and finalizing the design.

Your deposit is deducted in full from the total project estimate.

Full Custom projects vary in cost and lead time depending on scope and design.
