In 1959, the painter Miroslav Sasek set out to show children the great cities of the world, beginning with This Is Paris. His witty, richly colored illustrations still carry young readers through London, Rome, New York and beyond, filled with the landmarks, characters and curious facts that make each place its own. It is a set for the young traveler, the child dreaming of faraway places, and the family that reads its way around the world.

The eight books are gathered in a hand-sewn book band printed on archival canvas, with an elastic closure that makes it easy to remove and replace.
