A beach house lives by the light: the morning glare off the water, the long gold of late afternoon. The books in such a room should feel as effortless as the view, unhurried and serene, and wholly at home.

Drawing on more than two decades of library curation by our sister company, Juniper Books, we create coastal libraries that belong to their surroundings. Some of our most admired projects have taken a minimalist path, with pristine white custom book jackets that echo the clean lines of built-in shelving. Others unfold in driftwood neutrals, faded sea glass, bleached linen or bold coastal color. Books may wear custom jackets, keep their publishers' jackets, or stand unjacketed for a gathered-over-time ease. Homeowners and interior designers finishing a coastal retreat will find the collection as considered as every other detail in the house.

The Process

1. Begin with a deposit. Click "Get Started with a Deposit" and proceed to checkout.
2. We reach out within 2 business days to discuss the scale of your collection, your design preferences, and any titles or subjects you would like included.
3. Curation and design. A curator researches availability while a designer develops initial concepts. This typically takes 1 to 2 weeks.
4. Your proposal. We present an estimate and initial Design Concept outlining the full scope, cost and timeline.
5. Approval. If you accept, we send an invoice before acquiring the books and producing any custom jackets.

Your deposit is deducted in full from the total project estimate.

Full Custom projects vary in cost and lead time depending on scope, title availability and design.
