Purple Brontë Sisters Set
Made to Order at Juniper Custom in Boulder, Colorado
As Currer, Ellis and Acton Bell, three sisters from a Yorkshire parsonage published some of the most enduring novels in the English language. Charlotte's Jane Eyre found its readers first, followed swiftly by Emily's Wuthering Heights, her only novel, and Anne's Agnes Grey. This set gathers those masterpieces alongside further novels by the sisters, each a clothbound hardcover published by Arcturus.
The custom purple jackets recall the ornamented leather bindings of the sisters' own century. It is a set for the devoted reader of Victorian fiction, and a fitting gift for anyone who has lost an afternoon on the moors.
Each set is made entirely to order. Please allow two weeks for production.

FAQs
Why did the sisters publish under pseudonyms?
Writing in the 1840s, they chose names that were neither plainly male nor female, so their work would be judged on its own merits rather than by the expectations placed on women writers.
What inspired the purple design?
The ornamental leather bindings fashionable in the era when the novels first appeared.
What lies beneath the jackets?
Colorful clothbound Arcturus editions, each with its author and title on the spine.
